What’s it all about?

Throughout the course you will complete a range of mandatory units which cover concepts such as energy, chemical reactions and the structure and role of cells.

There are specialist units in biology, chemistry and physics covering topics such as microbiology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry and electrical circuits. These and other topics also allow the development of the mathematical skills needed to be a proficient scientific researcher.

This is a very practical approach to the subject in which you will become skilful in carrying out practical techniques and following procedures used in vocational contexts. You will also develop knowledge and understanding of the science used by organisations, business and industry.

You will need GCSE Dual Award in Science at grade 5 or above, or two seperate individual Science subjects at grade 5 and English and Maths at grade 5.
